From 1 September 2026, the updated Early Years Foundation Stage statutory framework requires sleep spaces for children under two to contain a firm, flat and waterproof mattress.
MollyDoo Waterproof EYFS Mattresses are designed to meet these mattress-related requirements, helping nurseries, childcare providers and other Early Years settings prepare for the updated safer-sleep rules.
Each mattress provides a firm, flat and supportive sleep surface with a fully waterproof, wipe-clean cover. The durable cover protects the mattress core from spills and accidents and can be cleaned between uses, helping Early Years settings maintain high standards of hygiene.
Manufactured in the UK, our Waterproof EYFS Mattresses comply with BS EN 16890:2017+A1:2021, the safety standard for mattresses used in children’s cots and cribs in both domestic and non-domestic settings. They also comply with BS 7177 Low Hazard for resistance to ignition.
Available in standard and made-to-measure sizes, they are ideal for replacing existing nursery mattresses or fitting specialist cots and sleep units.
